Chris Lunney combines the mediums of light, space, and sound, to create immersive audiovisual works, for the contexts of music entertainment, art installation, and experience design for branded events. He graduated in 2013 with Honors from Parsons The New School for Design, studying Design and Technology. In 2012 Chris studied Spatial Sound and Exhibition design at The Universität der Künste Berlin.
In collaboration with Katherine Brice, Lunney is the co-founder of the Brooklyn based Hovver Studios. Their practice conflates their interests in architecture, sound, lighting, and performance. The interventions they create are designed to focus on the subject’s experience, highlighting their perceptual participation.
Professionally, he has worked as a technical director for the company Levy Lighting, as well as the artist Sougwen Chung. In 2015 he partnered with the Dublin based audiovisual production company Algorithm as a creative director. Beginning in 2014, he continues to work as the Project and Studio Manager for the artist Yorgo Alexopoulos.
